The Chamberí neighbourhood, one of the most “castizos” of Madrid, owes its name to the military camp that the French troops established at the square with said name, during theiroccupation in the nineteenth century.

Its location, its services, and its means of transportation, make this neighbourhood a small city within Madrid, where its inhabitants have lived for generations and each building has its own history.
